              <text>La monografia offre un’interpretazione complessiva del mutamento del controllo manageriale sul lavoro dipendente in relazione alle trasformazioni tecnologiche degli ultimi decenni – dall’informatizzazione alla digitalizzazione del lavoro fino al lavoro digitale da remoto. Fondata su una concezione processuale e non dualista dell’organizzazione, l’analisi attinge categorie concettuali dalla Teoria dell’Agire Organizzativo di Bruno Maggi e dalla sociologia figurazionale-processuale di Norbert Elias. Con una prospettiva di lungo periodo, essa colloca il mutamento del controllo entro le organizzazioni nel periodo storico che va dalla svolta postfordista ai giorni nostri. La riflessione teorica è affiancata da un’analisi di dati di trend, relativi a variabili rilevate dalla European Working Conditions Survey 1991-2021. Tali dati sono interpretati attraverso tre tipi ideali di controllo manageriale – controllo neo-tayloristico, controllo panopticon e autonomia controllata – elaborati sulla base di un’ampia rassegna della letteratura teorica ed empirica. L’analisi corrobora una tendenza di lungo periodo verso l’adozione di forme di controllo riconducibili all’autonomia controllata, che interessa l’insieme del lavoro dipendente e risulta accelerata prima dalla digitalizzazione e poi dal lavoro digitale da remoto. Il lavoro conclude aprendo uno sguardo prospettico sulle possibili implicazioni dell’intelligenza artificiale per il controllo e l’autonomia nel lavoro dipendente. L’introduzione di Paola M. Torrioni propone alcune chiavi di lettura trasversali per comprendere la portata teorica e analitica del testo nell’attuale dibattito sul lavoro organizzato; la postfazione di Matteo Rinaldini mette in dialogo il concetto di “autonomia controllata” con alcuni contributi classici della labour process theory e delinea piste di ricerca future sul lavoro digitale.&#13;

This monograph offers a comprehensive interpretation of changes in managerial control within employment in relation to the technological transformations of recent decades, from computerization and the digitalization of work to digital remote work. The analysis is grounded in a processual and non–dualist conception of organization and draws on conceptual categories from Bruno Maggi’s Theory of Organizational Action and Norbert Elias’s figurational–processual sociology. From a long–term perspective, it situates transformations in organizational control within the historical trajectory extending from the post–Fordist turn to the present.The theoretical reflection is complemented by an analysis of trend data drawn from the European Working Conditions Survey (1991–2021). These data are interpreted using three ideal–typical forms of managerial control—new Tayloristic control, panopticon control, and controlled autonomy—developed through an extensive review of the theoretical and empirical literature.The findings point to a long–term shift toward the type of control referred to as “controlled autonomy”, affecting employment as a whole and accelerated first by digitalization and then by digital remote work. The monograph concludes by considering the potential implications of artificial intelligence for the future configuration of control and autonomy within employment.The introduction by Paola M. Torrioni highlights cross–cutting interpretative perspectives for assessing the text’s theoretical and analytical contribution within the contemporary debate on organized work. The afterword by Matteo Rinaldini places the core concept of controlled autonomy in dialogue with classic contributions from labuor process theory and outlines directions for future research on digital work.</text>
